It’s Friday, usually with the end of the workweek means the beginning of your let loose, have a cocktail, sleep in and possible squeeze in a date weekend. For those single ladies out there looking for “their one” heres a lesson on how to do your make up for the first, second and probably the rest of your dates.
Too often I see women sitting at a bar, talking to a man with their fake eye lashes on, hot red lipstick, over teased hair, dramatic eye make-up and most likely too pink blush on. More often than not, “the guy” notices your make up more than you and what you are saying- it’s too distracting and to be quite frank… it looks scary.
Must. Stop. This. Epidemic.
Lesson 1: Ditch the over contoured clown face.
It’s great for Halloween, however, that first date you want him to be staring at you
Rule of thumb: Less is More!
If you have eye liner, mascara, blush and a neutral lip gloss = You are golden.
Lesson 2: Ditch The Cement You Use For Your Hair
Hair Don’t. Period.
Over-teased, over-sprayed, over the top = don’t do it.
You don’t want him to be thinking, “I wonder what she hides in there.”
Keep hair soft and touchable. If you want to wear it up, don’t slick it back, you are not in the office anymore! Let your hair down.
Lesson 3: Consider your hands
You don’t need to get anything fancy. Stick to neutral or red.
Don’t do the witch, long pointy nails, don’t add chandeliers to the tips, you don’t need all the crazy designs. I understand nail art, but going overboard is not necessary, for any day of the week.
Last but not least:
LOTION! You should be doing this daily anyways.
I keep a lotion container on my nightstand and apply every night and morning to keep my hands constantly protected.
