Recently I have moved. Yes, it finally happened, my boyfriend and I have gotten a larger place that has room for leftovers AND to entertain. It’s a big step into a new adventure that is bringing nothing but happiness and bonding time between my best friend and I.
Along with all this new moving business and getting settled there is a lot of new purchases being made. Seriously, on our days off I am now more excited to go to Home Depot and Target than Ulta. Okay, maybe that’s not entirely true, but putting this house together and creating our little sanctuary is pretty freakin’ rad.
With large purchases comes more penny pinching in other departments, however I refuse to let my beauty routine go by the waist side. In hopes of saving a little, I have been trying a few new DIY Beauty recipes to keep my skin glowing and nourished.
The latest has been a blackhead remover recipe that I find works extremely well, especially in this dry heat we are experiencing in Laguna Beach.
Lemon juice is a natural skin brightener and detoxifier while honey (if it’s raw/organic ) moisturizes, has antibacterial properties which help fight acne and clarifies by opening up the pores to easily decongest them. Baking soda is, well, baking soda- a great natural cleanser.
Organic Raw Honey
Organic Lemon Juice (fresh squeezed)
Squeeze one full lemon into a bowl
Add Baking Soda and mix until it has become a thick paste
Add a tablespoon of honey
Continue to mix
Once your paste is fully blended apply to your blackhead problem areas. Allow to become hard and dry, then rinse with warm water.
I was shocked with the results and will probably be using this recipe once or twice a week.
Cost per use: $2.50
