I love when I hear a new song on the radio or randomly click on a “discover” artist in Spotify and fall in love with their music. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago while I was driving in my car on a gorgeous, sunny day (off) along the ocean- it was seriously too perfect.
Now that the beginning of the week has come around, I think it’s a perfect time to share this feel-good song so you can kick off your Monday with good vibes.
Andrew McMahon made the jump from Jack’s Mannequin to Andrew McMahon In the Wilderness after he beat leukemia in his early 20s and needed a change of atmosphere. With a new record label, new management and new moniker, Andrew McMahon is producing feel-good piano-pop music, with great lyrics and a sunny attitude. To create this album, McMahon ventured into the Topanga Canyon Wilderness to write during the week, while still visiting his wife, pregnant with their first baby, on the weekends.
Their first born, Cecilia, inspired the track Cecilia and the Satellite; McMahon wanted to create an autobiographical album that told about his adventures through life, and also about those that surround him.
So, enjoy this (New Music) Monday:
