The new year is here you guys! My goodness, 2015 flew by so fast. Did you accomplish everything you wanted to accomplish? I know a lot of us make those pesky resolutions that only seem to stick until mid-February. The greatest example is how packed the gym is beginning the first of the year (or maybe the second because everyone is so hungover from their champagne cheers-ing). Everyone is so motivated! They are running on the treadmill, lifting weights, taking classes, drinking water! Then Valentine’s Day rolls around, and, well, you don’t have any trouble finding an open treadmill, your gym spot is never crowded, and you have no problem finding your equipment. It’s a classic example of what happens when we put so much pressure on ourselves and look at our goals as resolutions rather than, well goals. Lifestyle changes. Bummer.
Don’t get me wrong, I love setting up new year goals, planning yearly goals, monthly goals, daily goals, even life goals. I think setting goals is necessary, and a healthy way to keep you motivated and on track. (Always write them down and keep them visible.)
Instead of the stale, “I am going to lose weight,” or “I am going to eat healthier,” or “I am going to try new things,” why not get more specific? Why not make it more fun? You only have one life to live, right? Shouldn’t your new year plans be enjoyable? The answer is yes. By the way.
I found a great example of making your new year goals more fun and interesting and decided to copy it, and make it my own. So here, is my list of resolutions to learn, try, create, and experience.
