We will see about That….
For the month of June, I are going on a clean eating/workout binge together, allowing a single “cheat day” every Monday.
I usually eat pretty healthy trying to stick to a gluten-free, dairy-free diet that consists of mostly organic foods from healthy sources; this month however I am daring the Elimination Diet we have all heard of from Gwyneth Paltrow’s book, It’s All Good.
I am on Day 3 and I must say that the hardest part is the whole giving up coffee thing. I will be the first to admit I am 100% addicted to the stuff and look forward to my coffee concoction every morning: black Coffee, unsweetened almond (or nut blend) milk, cinnamon and coconut oil. In hopes of maybe weaning myself off of this little addictive beverage, I have cut it down to one cup… Sorry, not sorry. That’s pretty good, right????
For those of you unfamiliar with the Elimination Diet (just as I was before I began to research it), It is a cleanse that involves consuming food in order to restore your insides which in turn restores your outsides. It’s about eating whole, organic foods and eliminating coffee, alcohol, dairy, eggs, sugar, shellfish, deep water fish, potatoes, tomatoes, bell pepper, eggplant, corn, wheat, meat, soy and nothing processed is allowed. Where is all the fun in life?!
Well, me being me I am always up for a challenge and refuse to eat food that tastes like cardboard, so creating healthy recipes (and what I call ‘boyfriend approved) is always on my to-do list.
Along with following this “cleanse” I am also following a water-drinking regimen.
I usually shoot for at least 2 liters a day but I want to see how my body feels by following this little chart and spacing my drinking out per day.
As we all need a day to relax, our “cheat day” will still use this diet as guidelines for what to consume but we may include the addition of good wine and probably some form of paleo dessert, which I am often creating.
So stay tuned for some delicious recipes that will make everybody happy while getting you and your body fit and back on track!.
